The scanner is every practice's entry point into digital dentistry. Everything downstream — CAD design, milling, sintering — is built on the file the scanner produces, which is why scanner accuracy and consistency matter more than any other device in the chain.
Two different families
Intraoral scanners scan directly inside the patient's mouth and replace alginate impressions; suited to clinics and practices. Lab scanners are desktop units that scan a plaster cast, impression or wax model, offering higher accuracy on full-arch and multi-unit implant cases; suited to labs.
