Multilayer Zirconia Blocks

Color and translucency gradient from cervical to incisal — a natural-looking result without manual staining.

A multilayer blank is built from several layers of varying shade and translucency that blend continuously: darker, more opaque near the cervical zone and lighter, more translucent toward the incisal edge — mirroring natural tooth structure.

Why multilayer

The main benefit is eliminating manual staining. After milling and sintering, the restoration already has a natural color gradient, freeing up technician time. For labs with a high volume of anterior cases, that time saving quickly offsets the higher material cost.

The one thing that matters: puck placement

The orientation of the restoration within the blank determines the outcome. If the case is nested at the wrong height in the CAM software, the color gradient falls in the wrong place and the whole advantage of multilayer is lost.
